The DUO IP/LTE module or the EVL4 module now support a UNIVERSAL mode and can connect to any security system to perform basic alarm notification, status functions, arm/disarm control, zone status (depending on configuration) and have both IP and LTE reporting capability available.
Either the DUO or the EVL4 can be set in UNIVERSAL mode and in that mode can be used in the following ways:
IP Alarms Only: The EVL4 or DUO in Universal mode can be attached to any panel with a Bell or Siren output to send Burg or Fire alarms over IP (get rid of your phone line). This may be the only mode available to some self-contained systems like a 2GIG. They may only have a Siren output and no other outputs.
Add System Status & Control: If you have access to the panel programming and 2 outputs and one input available, then you can attach an UNO4 board to the EVL4 or DUO and get System Status and Arm/Disarm control within the App. Most hardwired or hybrid wired/RF panels would fall into the category DSC NEO or Maxsys, Napco, GE, etc . Please see the Universal Mode Guide for more details.
Add Zone Status: You can also see the In-App status of as many as 24 hardwired zones by adding up to 3 UNO8 boards and paralleling each contact circuit (normally closed only) into the UNO8 input as well as the panel input.
While the DUO has LTE built-in, a Sidekick LTE module can always be added to an EVL4-based Universal system if LTE is desired.
